Mia is 6 months old!!!

Mia is 6 months old and we are overwhelmed with joy! She is just so precious and a true gift from God. We never take a single moment or smile forgranted.

6 month update:
Mia is still on the "petite" side, but we will know officially after her check up tomorrow. She is sitting up pretty good and starting to put weight on all four limbs instead of all belly. She hates rolling over on her own, but thinks it is a fun game to play with her parents. She still sleeps in our room, and I think it will be that way for a long time. Mia is doing good with eating new foods. We tried avocado this weekend and that did not go well though! She has curly hair and it is a little unruly!

Enjoy the 6 month pictures!

Play date with her good friend Lainey. Mia is fascinated by all of the older kids in her life.

Visit from Ya-Ya (my Mom). They had so much fun together!

Cruising around town in her sunglasses. She loves them and we just laugh the whole time she is wearing them.

6 month party weekend! Mia's Aunt Michelle and Cousins Cason and Bennett surprised us with a visit. We had so much fun!

Lilly's 2nd Birthday

Today our sweet Lilly would have been 2 years old. My heart longs to be having a huge celebration with my two girls and wonderful husband. Instead it will be day to honor her short life, reflect on the blessings we have, and remember the lessons we have learned.

As every mother experiences, the first time they put that new baby in your arms, you are forever changed. The feeling of love is overwhelming. I remember just staring at Lilly and telling God that if something ever happened to her, I would not be able to breathe another breath. Oh how we under estimate ourselves and God's power!

I now truly believe that he would never give us more than we can handle and that he has a perfect plan for my life that my earthly mind just can't grasp. He saw us through a very dark time and has restored us with the blessing of Mia.

Mia will be 6 months old tomorrow and I don't think the date is a coincedence. I truly believe he wants us to have a joyful, abundant life. We are going to take today to honor our sweet Lilly. Then tomorrow we can celebrate a huge milestone! God really IS good!

Lilly, I hope you are having a wonderful party in heaven today! We love you and miss so much! Happy Birthday sweet girl.

Could I "BEE" any cuter???

Mia was a bee for her first Halloween. We had so much fun dressing her up and she was a pretty good sport! We went to a pumpkin patch near our house and to the arboretum with our play group.

5 Months Old

Mia is already 5 1/2 months old, and you can tell by my lack of blogging that we are having too much fun to be on the computer! She is learning new things everyday and we can't get enough of her smiles. Mia loves to talk, she has something to say most of the time. Hopefully someday we will know what she is saying!
5 month stats:
-Mia weighs about 14 pounds (30th percentile)
- She like prunes and apple sauce. Tolerates peas and bananas. Loves anything laced with applesauce!
- Can roll over, chooses not too most of the time.
- Still sleeps in a co-sleeper next to her Mom. We hope to have her in her crib before kindergarten!
-She is close to sitting up on her own.
- She loves activity including her jumper, outdoor swing, and dancing with Daddy!
Here are a few pics of our sweet girl.
5 month birthday shot. Still working on the "serious" model face.

She is doing much better learning how to eat solids. This is her first pea experience. She didn't love the taste, but she always loves the attention.

Mia catching up on some light reading. Her princess book is a real page turner!

Pretty in pink. She is soaking up some sun and fascinated by a plane overhead.

I promise to get better at my postings and updates. Halloween and professional pictures coming soon!

Mia's Room Reveal

We are 4.5 months late, but her room is finally finished! We don't have any plans to make her sleep in there yet, but it makes a great play space right now. It is a bright, fun room and she really seems excited when she is in there! FYI...The bead board frame does not have a picture of her in it yet.

Aggie Photo Shoot

Well, as cute as she was, Mia was not able to help the Aggies defeat Arkansas. Her dad swears the game turned as soon as she went to bed. Anyway...here are a few pics with Richards paraphernalia.

6 Years Together!

Richard and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary this weekend. We had lunch at an outdoor cafe and really enjoyed the special time together. We also took some fun family pics.

Mia is 19 weeks old and doing wonderful. She loves to put things in her mouth and will give anyone a huge smile. We have tried rice cereal the last couple of days. She is wearing more than she is eating, so any advice on introducing solids is welcomed and appreciated!

Our home is a happy, peaceful place. We are all sleeping a little better each day and remember to praise God for the many blessings we have. He IS good!

Exersaucer time. Her little legs don't touch the bottom, but she doesn't let that slow her down!
Family date at a local Tex Mex. She will not smile for the camera, she is perfecting the model "pout".

Model "pout"...again.

And...finally. Her Dad gets the great smile!

16 weeks! Praise God!

Mia turned 16 weeks on Friday! What a blessing! We have optimism in our hearts and feel like first time parents again. Everyday is new, each new expression, sound, and milestone makes us laugh and cry tears of joy.

We stayed busy this week with the help of friends and family. Here are some pictures of our fun!

14 Weeks! Holding our breath...

Mia is 14 weeks old now. I have never felt such a mix of emotions that all come crashing together. We love her more everyday. The deeper our hearts fall in love, the more our heads remind us what could happen. Lilly was 15 weeks old when she passed away. As Mia approaches this milestone, I am flooded with memories of my sweet Lilly and how she will forever be frozen in my mind at this age. Mia is also starting to look more and more like Lilly, which can also cause a flood of emotions. God is in control and holding on to us tightly right now, that I am sure of.

I know we have required so much prayer this year, but I need to ask for it for just a little longer. Please keep Mia in your prayers. That God's protecting hand stay over her. That Richard and I have discernment and wisdom in our decision making, and most importantly, that all Mia is feels is surrounded by love. We don't want her to know how neurotic her parents are!

Mia is such a joy! She loves to smile, is mesmerized by Praise Baby DVD's, and gives the best cuddles and kisses. Here are some pics of our precious girl.

Baby Bounce Library time with our play group. It was so wild, Mia loved it!
Chillin' on the patio at Twisted Root. The red glow is from the red umbrella we were sitting under.
Staring at Praise Baby. She loves it and always talks to the babies on the screen.

12 Weeks!

Time flies when you are having fun!

My sister and her two adorable babies came to visit last week. We had some wonderful sister time and I finally got to hug on Bennett and Cason. It was a little wild with 3 little ones, but we loved every minute.

We can't believe Mia is already 12 weeks old. She is such a good baby too. We thought all of our parental insecurities would create a baby with issues, but she is so good inspite of us. She sleeps 11 hours at night and is starting to take naps in her bed during the day. She loves to go out of the house and lights up when she's her car seat. Richard and Mia have really bonded too. She is starting to prefer him when she wants to play. While we are on high alert right now, she brings too much joy for us to let the anxiety take over. She will be 4 months old before we know it!

Daddy and Mia making funny faces at each other.
Cason and Richard took the girls on a date to Cheesecake Factory. We had such a good time. Here are Michelle and Bennett.

Michelle, Cason, Mia, and Me.

Mia and her "Sassy!" My sister was watching Mia while I took a shower. When I came out of my bathroom I found Mia asleep in her lap with Bennett's pacifier in her mouth. (It was clean of course). Who knew she would like this kind, I guess she wanted one that was already broken in! She is so attached now!

Michelle holding Mia and Cason. It is hard to get a good picture of those two. Isn't Cason adorable! He is 4.5 months and already weighs 18 pounds! He made Mia look so tiny.
